cut through nameless faces, found you there
foreboding or delusion i don't care.
but when i pretend to have a future
with the things and people i have come to love,

my distant lonely eyes convert what's there
into something i can't understand.
that's why i have to leave and on my own,
i'll chase what's left of my identity.

but don't distract me, my thoughts entrap me
in this bubble of superiority, they're killing me
or maybe i have engineered this fate

while worlds collide, outside it's bright,
tonight might be the night i just give up on you
don't misconstrue the things i say
like "i do not have hate"

set your sights on what you haven't seen
if you find you're worn out from your dreams.
how many times can i replay this thought?
of you, though it isn't much it's all i've got
